Evo OK with VTA and S-AFCII?

Alright, im an attention *****, i admit it. With a boostin' car I haveeee to have that loud psshhhh of air coming from my engine bay. So unless I absolutely can't I want to op for a VTA BOV. However, I heard problems with it, if I get an S-AFCII or HKS-AFR can the Evo be setup to combat the problem of running way to rich?

honestly, no its not really the right way to do it...just get an open element air filter, and you'll get the same "whoosh", and keep your ecu much happier and overall driveability will not be compromised.

To go on record one more time... While venting a Blitz BOV for 8000+ miles, I have NEVER had it stall on me, and only stumble a few times (stumble = RPMs dropped to 800-1200 for a moment). I know the 2G DSMs were NOTORIOUS for aving problems, but without using a S-AFC or VPC I had virtually NO problems.

As for running rich, well, yeah that happened

No need for a VTA. Any cone filter, as Z1 said, will give you that sound. If you're going to do some fuel tuning, use the SAFC.

Or you could just go buy the Works Dual Vent Valve ... its full variable from VTA to recirc, so you can balance it to get the best sound without venting too much air from the intake.

And for the record I'm just a satisfied customer. No affiliation beyond that

Just get an intake, it will be the best investment for you right now. You will get your sound and you will keep your driveablity, Trust me , you can't VTA it will stall and you can't tune it out!
