Cam gear cover?

I've seen a lot Supras and Skylines that don't have this on. I took mine off just for the hell of
it, got bored. Any reason why some have it on and some have it off? Any problems with leaving it off?

I run mine from time to time off but its a good idea to leave it on as you dont wanr gunk leaves toos ect possibly getting in there danaging or dislodging the belt trashing the head. The supras dont have the tight crevaces and black hole the EVO does

Yeah, but it's also covered by a screen mesh.

Hey, if snapping your timing belt, or letting in anything that may harm it doesn't matter to you then run it off...

I'd keep it on, you don't wanna kick yourself over some freak incident that sends your timing belt into oblivion, and your head with it.

You sure wouldn't want to get a small rock caught under the belt. I remember when Pontiac first came out with a SOHC six back in the 1960's they had trouble with snow packing in around the cam drive and throwing the belt.
