cam deg./timing

Okay first a little background. Installed a 2.4 However this individual that was suposed to help insatlled the Fid. cam gears on using the wrong dowl. Yup installed them on the dsm not the evo. Another friend and I got them to what we think would be 0ed. Now I know that Kelfords need to be degreed in to get the power potential out of them. However due to someone not listening and installing the gears wrong. So my questions would be how far off is timing by setting them on the wrong dowl? what cam gear settings would I need to adjust them to go get them to be set at the proper timing marks on the camgears so I can extract my actual power potential.
Cams are kelford 272 in/ehx. Fid. cam gears, 2.4stroker. Help in this will be HUGELY apricated.

You need to reinstall the cam gear properly, and start from there!
Don't turn over the motor that **** will hit.

If you lined up the gears with the 2.0L head timing marks then it will be 7deg off total 3.5 each side.

It probably won't valve collide at those settings but you should wind the motor over very slowly!!! with a breaker bar and make sure the pistons are not contacting any of the valves before you start the car.

Yeah no valve clearance issues, but it is WAY down on power and spool is a little slow for the set up.

I just timed a 2.4 this week with fidanza gears. They have a small mark on the colored aluminum part. Line that up with the stock timing marks and you'll be fine. Also, being on the wrong dowel just means you need to turn the cam 90* to be in the right spot. My newer gear has 3 dowel pin locations for whatever reason. I can't be more specific than that on the timing procedure because it's possible to set the timing off a tooth in either direction to get it to work.

You wouldn't happen to know settings I'd need on these gears to get the timing to mech. zero with them placed onthe correct dowls would you? I'm going to set things right that an A-HOLE did wrong. And are these settings confirmed for Kelford 272. If I remember right the center line on then is 106 deg. Oh using evo head, 4G64 timing belt.

So any one have what the settings should be on the cam gears to get them to mech. 0 once I move them to the correct dowl. Remember Kelford 272.

Issue resolved and cams done proper. Car took a much better tune, and improved spool. Jumped 40 hp and 35 pound feet of torque at the wheels.

This actually isn't true. I know from experience. (turning engine over by hand)
Thanks, fidanza, for mislabeling your cam gears.
For the record, Evo cam dowels line up (roughly) with the timing marks.
