Tatting noise from engine bay

Tatting noise from engine bay
So a couple days ago I heard a low tating noise that happened evenly about .25 seconds apart coming from the block. Now the noise has become irregular in rythm, more frequent and louder. Any ideas what it might be? I'll try to get a video up soon.
yeah you really need a video to start. If you want you can check for anything loose like a heatshield or something simple like a bracket or exhaust rubbing somewhere but without video thats all the help i can give
