Selling Evo because of clutch

so this sux but i really have no choice at this point, i have a tilton twin in the evo and the discs sheared and i replaced them now it wont disengage so i have to take the tranny back out and this is my DD. once everything is back together the car is going to be sold only due to the clutch, its too harsh for a DD and too expensive to fix. its putting too much stress on my family.

Would you be able to repair the tilton and sell it? Try that and use the money to buy a cheaper clutch so you won't have to sell the car.

How about getting a cheaper clutch set and sell the tilton.

clutch issues are common with this platform. don;t let an installation frustration make you want to sell the car.

We all have been frustrated at times but not a reason to sell the car.

I would say you aren't selling the Evo because of the clutch. You need to sell the Evo because its a terrible car to have if you are modding it to the point you have a Tilton twin and its your only form of transport. Any time you have the car down for repairs, maintenance etc you are going to be sweating because you need it to get to work. The solution is to have a back-up beater car for exactly that reason.

I think that's you are not thinking this thru man. I'm not in you situation but you can probably get a beater car with the money you going to lose on the sale, JMHO.

Good luck.

I agree with most of these other posts. If you can afford a beater for when the Evo is down for repair it will make things much easier.

Get different clutch in that thing.

If you have to sell it for financial reasons, do that, but don't blame the car. Kinda hard for the discs to shear if you are driving it normally.

Have you considered selling your family? Getting a new one?

How much power was your Evo making? A Tilton twin disc? Race parts don't belong in a street car.

I LOLed pretty loud at 1d1ot's comment.

Lol, I've learned this lesson before with my hypothetically "daily driven" turbo RX-8 which was broken 95% of the time.

So you put a new clutch in and now it wont disengage? That's installation error then, I'm in ur same deal too, mines makin over 550+ and I ddit 500+ miles a week. I have an exedy triple and besides the annoying rattle noise and the one time it overheatrd and wouldn't disengage it has been fine. Knock on wood
