Magnus manifold, boomba tb and ets piping=my fail lol

Hey guys,

Been on the forums for a while now but not very active. Just simply read in but rarely make an post. Please be gently on me, this is my first thread lol. The pics are ****ty...kind regards to my phone.

This is a warning when installing the boomba racing tb, magnus manifold and ets piping together.

I have done a stupid amount of reading on the forums regarding the egr removal, evap removal, magnus intake install, and on the boomba racing throttle with magnus manifold. I thought i covered all angles before I tore into the install.... I was wrong. I couldnt find any information with this issue, maybe im blind. But just an advisory to everyone that tries this, to be ready to chop and customize the upper ic pipe.

I removed the front bumper to see if I could somehow play with the lower ic pipe but could not manage anthing that would work out. If the upper ic pipe is left alone and the lower ic pipe is customized then the upper ic pipe will hit the engien mount serverly!!... fail!!

The ets piping connects perfectly to the stock manifold... but the magnus manifold sits at more of an angle and closer to the front of the vehicle. Plus when using the boomba racing tb it pushes out even further. You end up with about 5 inches of piping too long and a different angle from the upper ic to tb. Well I thought I already got a short pipe from ets .

If you'd done the amount of reading you claim, you'd know that your uicp needs to be modified to accommodate the relocated TB position when installing your Magnus IM. It's very well documented with several write-ups.
Also, if I'm not mistaken, ETS makes an uicp specifically for the Magnus, all you have to do is ask.
Best of luck in the future, enjoy your car and drive safely!

That is like buying a downpipe from eBay, a catalytic converter from Chevrolet, and a cat-back from Greddy and expecting it all to bolt up perfectly.

Thanks for the reply guys. Youy are right about the option from ets, i must have over looked it when i purchased the complete ic pipe kit. Regardless, I thought i did a LOT of reading but honestly have not come across the information regarding this. But many thanks for clearing this up. New pipe placed on order.

I just cut out 4" of length, put a rubber coupler and im now runing. Had to do something to get me running before i get the proper pipe from ets. I fail!! Should have taken more note to magnus manifold option when I purchased my piping. You live and you learn Lesson of today= READ AND SUCCEED!! LOL

Actually to be honest, the parts all fit very well. It was my fail by not ordering the upic with the magnus manifold option. In this case, all these pieces are very well designed and all fit very well

I think the point being missed here is that ETS sells 2 different upper intercooler piping setups.

They have one that fits SPECIFICALLY for the Magnus v5. And they also have another that works with the OEM intake manifold

Looks like you have the ETS unit that is made for the OEM intake manifold.

Call up Michael @ ETS on Monday and order the Magnus specific Upper Intercooler Piping.

That's what I was implying, I edited for truth

So its easy for the OP, there is a drop-down for routing with the Magnus V5 - http://www.extremeturbosystems.com/E...oler-Pipe.html

If you only need the upper pipe at this point though, contact Michael@ETS and he will give you a good price.

This thread had me scared as this is the exact combo I plan to run, but I did opt for the Magnus ETS piping so I'm safe
