noise question

I've had this problem for a while and i have no idea what it is or how to fix it. anytime i let off the gas pedal and stop accelerating, the engine makes a weird noise and kinda rocks the car back and forth but at idle its fine and also during acceleration. its not a knock or tap i cant really explain the noise its kind of a brrrrrrrr noise. any input would really help, thanks in advance.

can you post a video if the sound is audible enough? the evos are notorious for drivetrain noise. some are bad, some aren't. and what do you mean rocks the car? like side to side or does it buck front to back?

The noise isn't extremely loud but I can hear it because I'm always in it and it rocks front to back

I had read a few times where some of that is related to our drive shafts. AWD makes a 2 piece replacement that people claim fixed the "lurching" effect. I also get it every now and then. I'm considering replacing mine next year as a test. Plus it's heck of a lot lighter than the factory drive shaft.
