Not worth it. Regardless of what cams you install, you will be out installation and tune costs, so make the most of it and get the best gains for your money. Those cams are probably one of the, if not, the most mild aftermarket cams out there. You dont even have to save that much more for a great set of cams. I recommend the reese tuning 276's. $450 shipped I believe and they out perform kelford 272's.

hks 272s are all win over hks 264's, except idle lope is slightly worse on the 272's, but imho, slight @ most.

what 272's are you considering?

what are you looking after, peak power or meaty power curve with great response around town?

what mods are on your car?

Not soo much peak power, but a strong powerband throughout the RPM...

Im still learning of the mods done to the car before me..

So far i know of (Megan manifold, 3.5in exhaust, possible injectors and 255pump that we will find out today..) Sorry not much to go on i know...But ive only had the car a week hahah

Either considering HKS 272 or the BC 280s

The BC setups are extremely popular among the DSM crowd. They are reasonably priced and perform just as good if not better than HKS. I believe BC use HKS re-grinds.
The only downfall, if any, would be a larger lope - no big deal, if you can cope!!!
: ) good luck!

I have HKS 264/272's. The main reason why I chose this patch was I wanted a mild cam for a daily driven car. I'd rather things be smooth without any issues with starting, idling, and reliability. They work well in a stock head and require no extra work when installed.

On that note, my peak power did not increase much at all. It did however drop off less. My midranged increased 30+ horsepower and torque. I actually had gains across the whole graph. This is on a stock 8 turbo with all bolt-ons.

*numbers were verified using VD and the same stretch of road I always tune on.

Also hoping to ditch the stock evo8 turbo an pickup a used evo9 turbo an 02dump, then retune...
