Turbo leaking air?

Help, I need some insight if this is a normal occurance as i can't seem to get a straight answer.

I did a static boost leak test (5-10psi) on a 'new' turbo and have air leaking out of the turbo center section inlet/outlet oil ports.

So is it normal to have slight air leaking past the turbo shaft seals on a journal bearing turbo when doing a static boost leak test?

I'm about as far from a turbo expert as you could find. I only know what I have read here. But from my reading I would say the answer is normal.

Well, at least this is a bump.

Thanks guys!

I kinda figured it was normal but wanted to make sure before I install the turbo.
