Axle popped out during Coilover install and now.

After we shoved it back in and drove it about a thousand miles I'm getting terrible T-Case whines at mostly 60mph.. Also my axle boots at the outer cv shafts on both ends are leaking a good amount..

Could the axle popping out have caused the T case to start whining?

Also if the Tcase has a tiny leak over time would it cause it to whine?

Going to change the fluids out tomorrow and see if it stops but I need to know whether or not to bite the bullet and get a built tcase or if mine could be saved.

Would the Tcase whine regardless of gear? If im at 60 in 5th and pop into neutral its still just as significant..

You sure it's the T-case and not the Axle that popped out, if it's dry it will make noise

The tears in the boots are quite significant on both sides and have been leaking grease for a few months now.. I was not aware that it would make the Howling Death whine sound if they are dried out?

Fix the boots on the axel, check how the t-case fluid looks and refill if needed.

Hopefully you didn't drive around on it too much and do damage to the t-case... Kinda sounds like you ran it a little drive.

Yes change all fluids and fix the boots. I'm gonna bet the previous owner never changed the drivetrain fluids.

That neglect could of just caused you about 1000+ in damages...

Axle boots are cheap to repair. fluid.... maybe 100 max on Tranny and T-case fluid.

Purchased my Diaqueen LSD gear fluid today for 50 bux for 4 liters.

Not even 100... I'm PRAYING that the Tcase is just low on fluids.

Question : Should I replace the entire axles or just fix the torn CV shaft boots?

Could the axle popping out have caused the T case to start whining?

No.

Also if the Tcase has a tiny leak over time would it cause it to whine?

If low then yes. It only holds 0.6 quarts.

Going to change the fluids out tomorrow and see if it stops but I need to know whether or not to bite the bullet and get a built tcase or if mine could be saved.

May well be toast.

Yes.

Also, check the axle seal on the t-case!! With the axle popping out it possibly ripped the axle seal which would also cause it to leak even more.

Will do. not sure what I'll be looking at but I'm sure I'll figure it out tomorrow on the lift.
