can you fix this?

haha a friend of mine had his license for a week, and the car for three days.....

the only thing internally thats salvageable is the cams, only because they can be welded and reground. I'm almost positive the block is toast, considering there are 1/8" gouges everywhere.

i am unclear on what happened, he claimed he was doing a 40mph pull in third getting on the highway and "it started smoking smelling like metal and screeched to a halt!!!" well he thought it was the clutch and took it to two different mechanics and they couldn't figure out what was wrong lol. so i started looking and saw the timing belt chillin there with no tension. so we pulled it and i knew it was toast when i see every rocker in the head broken. i am going to assume it was on a stock timing belt, the car has 100k on it and no one probably changed it.

He's prob like my one friend, "I went to go take off but it didn't go, so I gave it more gas and it didn't do nothing so I kept on holding it down then it started making clunking noises"

Makes my 6 spun bearings in the bottom end look like child's play.

A new everything fixes that. hope you've got local shops as good as we've got, my car was back on the road in two and a half weeks on a full rebuild.

I think we all have a few of thos lol. OP thats some crazy damage! I wouldn't even bother with the cams, or anything on that motor personally. I'd just buy an entire engine unless u really want to build it all yourself

Really .... it is asking for trouble to rebuild that. Trash wil be everywhre

Be sure that after replacing the block with a new one to completely flush out the oil cooler and turbo if they are still good, other wise there will eb a new thread, rebuild block lasted 500 miles what could have happened ?

ultimate fail
