GSC S1 cams in stock in/ex evo 8
Just wondering if anybody has info/results for installing GSC S1 cams in an Evo 8 with stock intake and stock exhaust?
Current modifications:
Buschur stainless O2
255 fuel pump
Increased boost pressure
Reflashed
Reflashing isn't a problem. Just wondering what gains to expect. I know it won't be anything like having an uncorked exhaust. I just like to keep it as quiet and stock appearing as possible.

Cams aren't normally one of the first recommended mods. It is best to clear the airways of as much restriction as you can before swapping out cams or even a turbo. I do understand that you want your car to be as quiet as possible though. Buschur can make you a nearly stock sounding exhaust (dual Magnaflow mufflers, the 1st one replacing the catalytic converter) and you can still reap the benefits of a full 3" tbe. You already have his o2, might as well un-choke the rest of the exhaust.
You might also be in the market for a downpipe with a cut-out so you could keep the rest of the stock exhaust. The only downside is that it's still gonna be restrictive until you open up the cut-out, then it'll be loud as fack.
If you want more power, you have to at least open up the exhaust. You can keep the stock intake manifold and intake pipe, just put an open filter element on it. I've only had my car tuned once, and it went from the stock 220-230whp to 311 with just a 3"tbe (w/hfc), open air filter, and more boost + a tune. I've since put a test pipe in the hfc's place and switched to a Perrin foam filter. I'm considering swapping out the test pipe with a Magnaflow muffler, but when I do get some cams (GSC S2's), I want them to (as another forum member so vividly put it) "stomp the ground".
I hope this helped you out some. As far as the gains that you're looking for, you might have to experiment yourself. The majority of people who have cams have already opened up their intakes/exhausts.
