FP red turbo vs Precision 6262?
I got 498whp on my red on 94 Oct, & meth. at 30psi ETS 3.5 core & GSC S2 cams ) forged internals same 2.0l
Sorry Sparky, just now saw this. E85, 36psi, 10:1 forged motor, ets 3.5", gsc s2's, and yes 84mm. P.S. it has more in it, and this was on a dyno dynamics.
Go with the 6262. I didn't read the whole thread, but with 1250cc injectors on pump gas I don't think the red is going to perform the way you want unless you decide to run E85 or Pump+Meth. This turbo requires a lot of boost to make decent power.
If you plan on just 400hp on pump gas, the red may work out for you, but if your wanting the 500hp mark, go with the 6262.
The 6262 will make 500whp in the 25 psi range a little sooner with some good tuning. You can make 400whp at the 20psi range.
Spool up is not that bad and it won't drop down towards red line like the stock frame turbochargers. Most stock frames have a graph that looks like a mountain where the larger t3 frame turbochargers will pull at the way to red line and more.
I'm a big fan of less boost more power with the larger turbochargers though.
Hope this helps you out.

to be honest man 400ish is your goal you can achieve that on a red on either pump or whatever octane increasing gas you have available. Personally imo, an fp red would be better your choice for what you wanna do with your car. More broad powerband, sure a 6262 is a seat planter when you get on it, but 3k rpms usable powerband compared to 5k usable powerband for daily drivin etc sounds more useful. Plus you throwin if you wanna go do some canyon runs road runs places to go with turns, harder to control your vehicle with a top end potential like that. You don want a honda powerband haha no power till 5 or 6 k jk. But im running a 64mm og fp red no problems with it, with room to grow. Save your money buy a red or an hta green, run it to its fullest. The money you saved from a 6262 bolton kit, use fp red. Get rid of the aem ems. Your buyin a licp uicp ic and cams, Screw it imo buy a tubular mani if smogs easy in your area, and buy a bigger intake mani and tb. Maybe a bov that can handle the pressure.
Other then that enjoy, imo anything over 400 hp is a fun DD. not over the power on mine yet, will take a while, then when that time comes its e85 for me.

The red is an awesome turbo and has a ton of potential but its really not even fair to compare it to a 6262. But honestly if you're interested in a red you might as well go with a black.
I'm running a red on my car right now and I think its a really fun daily driver. I made 498/543 on a mustang dyno. The car would really benefit from some new cams but money is tight...

If you want 400 then the Green would be a better choice.
And yes if you keep the TQ low your motor can survive. There was a local here for over 2 years made close to 600 and kept TQ low and beat on the car all the time. Never had a problem.
