FP red turbo vs Precision 6262?

Any recommendations of one over the other? I'm going to be running a buschur race core IC upper lower pipes 1250 injectors, pump, aem ems, buschur cams with adj gears headstuds and STM's manifolds with e85 tune by STM. Trying to decide which turbo to go with... Daily driver.

They are two totally different turbos.

What are your goals?

The FP Red is generally considered a better turbo for a dd. The 6262 is quite a bit laggier but makes quite a bit more whp.

Searching both of these turbos will tell you alot more info and let you know what supporting mods they require and powerband potential.

Cessna's drag car started out with a red on it and was able to trap 140 mph. Swapped it out for our 6262 FF kit and trapped 150 mph.

Emery: What's your take on the HTA 3586 vs. the 6262? How do they match up? Spoolwise, is the 86 better than the 6262. Any insight appreciated, Thanx!

If you don't mind I'd like to know what fuel you achieved the 504 on? Also, how much boost. Is your 2L. stock or is it built. Also, what cams and IC? Is yours the 84mm Red?

Not hating. Just curious as I have the same turbo.

Yes I know they are completely different, thats why I ask what turbo setup would be better. Im not looking for 500hp more in the 400 range and RELIABLE. It is a daily driver and I do not want to do internals but I do want a bigger turbo. Seems like the red would be the easiest way to go. Figured I'd throw it up here to see what people say before spending all of this $$$

Keep the TQ below 450ish on either turbo.

Depends on your goals.

Red if you want 450-500 on stock motor (russian roulette closer to 500).

6262 is you want 500+ on stock motor (russian roulette with TQ being over 450). Compared to the red it may be laggier but its not like its going to be slow.

If you're only looking for 400hp, why not just push a 9 turbo? Save you $, FAST spool, theres people running 10's on them, you can use the car for EVERYTHING still. I have a 6262 and it puts you in the seat pretty hard and is a blast to drive, but you cant just step on the gas in any gear to say, get you up a hill easier without needing to downshift. Just a thought...

So you are saying 570 whp is safe? 400wtq at 7500 rpm...
