is the car as much fun as 5 speed for daily? still finding it difficult to grasp how much HP loss there is switching to A/T yet the track times never reflect it.

Kind of confused from some of the things I've been reading. So does this trans use the Evo tcase ?

Also any attempts or updates on paddle shifter option?

No real updates on the paddleshifter as the V2 box is still under development. Right now we are still working out bugs with the V1 and then going to proceed on the V2. For reference V1 is just the manual only mode.

94AWD,

Andrew took his car to the track once, didnt launch it (ran a 2.89 60'), and trapped 118-119 at 24psi on pumpgas. His car was making 362whp at that level with the built motor and R2 camshafts. It was also a full weight GSR as the drivetrain ended up in a new shell. I am not sure what the ET was but I am sure it wasnt too exciting with that 60'.

We have been working along on it quietly actually. Far from cancelled.

Right now it is going back together with some more 300M in it, some other changes to the valvebody and some internal stuff and then back into my car. It was supposed to be done last friday but is apparently going to show up sometime this week.

The new V2 box is still in progress, a billet final drive and some other internals are being planned right now as well. I am hoping to get it back in and get my 15" wheels and tires here and run it before our season runs out but time has definitely not been on my side lately. Of all the parts I have broken so far, its just been a ring and pinion from wheelhop (why I am going to 15s), the rest of the trans has been strong enough so far.

Also as an update-

Andrew and I have been working diligently on getting the new control box together, bench tested, and some new features we hadnt thought of until last night More stuff to make them work the way we want, especially on fast downshifts.

Aaron
Has there been any further progress on the paddle shifts and in general transmission development?

How is this automatic transmission in terms of intuition: downshifts, upshifts, staying locked?
Is it suitable for fast road and track driving, like modern automatic & twin clutch transmissions?

What about power/torque losses compared to 5 speed transmission, have you made some correlation please?

In our US driving cycle, Automatic is far more suitable for daily driving, i.e. commuting and urban area errands. However, Evo is sports purpose car, so compromising its true purpose with inadequate transmission is not acceptable. I hope that this automatic is or can be made to work like modern automatics & dual clutch transmissions.
