Ebay Resonated Test pipes: Any long term use issues?
Hey just checking in... Noticed these test pipes selling on ebay are the exact looking ones as the megan.
Anyone who had purchased em and still have em on which of these have you used and how hell have they held up over the time?
Has it given any problem such as rusting/ burning holes/ rattling through over the time used? (yes I used the search button) I have read the megans tend to rattle inside after some time...

I havent used the ebay one, but I do have a Megan testpipe and the gaskets they supply are crap. Buddy of mine had to change is gaskets twice in less then a couple months. The only other thing I would worry about is fitment.

Considering one of these or if money is available to get it, the works resonated test pipe... but I'm on a Stock DP and a TiC cat back and I know it'll be louder... just didn't want it that much louder on the straight test pipe...
But then yes the fitment issue with the stock DP is a concern... dunno if using a 2.5" gasket considering it's 3" would help...

The bung location on the ebay one looks a lot better than the megan one...megan one is about a half-inch "below" where the bung in the first picture is located, making for a really bad angle no matter which way you mount it on the car
^^^^ the bung location on my megan is horrible. Its pointing in a diagonal way. You cant use it because the sensor would either hit the driveshaft or if you flip the pipe upside down it will be too low to the ground and a speedbump would probably rip it out.

Cool.
I'd have gone with the straight but heard they are much louder over the resonated... (would also rather like the deeper tone than the raspiness).
Only thing is I dunno anyone using a resonated one whether megan, works, ebay, etc for over a year to know if it's burning out at any welds or through the whole thing etc.
Straight pipes seems to not matter as you all have said.

No they aren't burning out. If they do, it's like $30 to get a new one anyways. I'm sure if the Megan/Works/etc were burning out you would see people complaining about it on the forums more.
I was skeptical, ended up going with an eBay exhaust, couldn't have been more pleased

True. I have seen some on other cars but they carried hangers on them and were burning holes there.
Cheapest on I saw with shipping to Miami is $50 but then when you shipping to Trinidad you have to add something like in this case $43.00 (They charge $4.30 per lb to ship from Miami and assuming a RTP box weight is 10lbs)
THEN
Customs adds a 30% charge of the item cost + Trinidad Shipping cost for car stuff
THEN
15% taxes on top of that... i'll be looking at around $139.00 (or $920 TTD
)So yeah still gotta make sure it doesn't burn out

If I tell you we were looking at advans here and 18x9's cost (wait for it) $3800.00 USD.
Customs sucks...

UPDATE:
Gonna get the one from EB stores and see... will give a review once I get it and fit it. Hopefully I won't have to buy new gaskets to fit the stock DP
