new PTE DBB 6765 turbo whining after shut off !

Hello

I built my engine to 2.3 stroker with PTE DBB 6765 turbo and started the engine today

But after i shut off the engine i hear a strange sound from the turbo like it is loudly whining down ( Sound like a supercharger) ! and not smooth spinning down
Also i can hear the Turbo wining with slight revving ( again super charger )!
This happend about 2 times in total of 5 times i started and shut off the engine

We checked the oil feed it's OK , the turbine is full with oil , the fan ok and no shaft playing.

Is it normal for PTE 6765 to be strangely loud whining like that i can hear it from inside or something wrong with my turbo ?
it's brand new turbo and it was the first start .

Any suggestions please as i'm too worry ?

Sounds pretty normal to me. You will hear it spinning and slowing down after you shut it off (got to love ball bearing turbo's). It should be pretty smooth though...

Yeah, its just part of having a ball bearing unit. Less rotational resistance lets the turbo "coast" to a stop over a much longer period of time than a journal bearing unit.

precision makes junk. had a 6765 on my supra and it lasted 200 miles and then locked up. btw the video of the bb precision spins less long than my journal bearing borg warner.

barg warner for the win. next time you are looking at buying a turbo ask them how many units they have worked on or fixed. when i asked my seller he told me borg warners about 8 in the past five years and with precision which he also sells, said he didnt have enough space on the wall to make check marks for them. 1 good thing precision is good at doing is marketing thats it.

I had a whine that turned out to be coming from a previous turbo of mine. Before realizing it was coming from the turbo it would be so loud at ~3k that I was worried my tcase was going to explode and take a part of my foot off (the sound seemed to be coming from down low while in the car). I suppose you could say it sounded like an extremely loud Supercharger.

I was under the hood trying to figure it out while hitting the throttle, and I heard a "tink, tink" every once in a while, which sounded like it was coming from the turbo. I popped my intake and could literally watch the wheel spinning in an untrue manner, which was ultimately causing the noise I was hearing.
