Trans Help.

Ok here's what happened:

I was driving down the highway at about 60-65MPH, all of a sudden the car began to bog down and run a little funny, then it quit for a second...I thought ok let me pull over and just check it out.

As I pulled onto the access road I pushed the clutch in and was about to downshift, and as I pushed the clutch in I heard a horrible screaching sound...so I immediately let off the clutch as I did the noise got terribly loud and as I applied the brakes to slow down, as soon as I got to the shoulder of the road, the car made a loud banging sound and screached to a stop locked up all the wheels in the process.

The car starts and idles good, the only gear that it is now going into is third and neutral, but here's the catch if I place the shifter into the neutral position and attempt to let out the clutch, it still acts as if the car is in gear and stalls out if I fully let out the clutch, same if I place it in the third gear position, so It's like it's stuck in gear fulll time.

I've checked the linkages under the hood, the one lower one moves freely and easily, I can't seem to get the top one to, maybe it's not supposed to idk. and also checked inside the car and all looks good everything is connected.

Any help?

Ok, so I can now freely move the top shifter linkage attached to the trans.

And the clutch slave is still working.
