Looking for more info on using the 69 for my project.
I have come into a brand new OEM longblock for next to nothing and know it can be used and know a couple have been done before but i would like to know the pros and cons.

I realize its a more open deck then the 64 with shorter deck height with larger cooling passages and already has mivec plumbing but needs the oil passage to be bored out.

Also the stock crank is lighter then the 64 and is a cast piece???? Im not sure if this is a good thing. either way its a 100mm crank and could be swapped out.

I assume the stock headgasket from the 69 is the proper one to use since the evo9 head has smaller passages.

Im going to be using this for roughly mid 500whp on a track car so its not like the semi open deck is being asked to handle 1000whp, but the added cooling benefit should be a bonus.

I read that someone from JE already had a piston designed for this motor and in a 10.5:1 compression ratio which is ideal for my application. Does anyone know if he is still around and where to find him?
