hks ssq bov
haha so many acronyms but onto the question
i am reading a lotta mixed reviews on this thing for the dsm. i've already read all the threads regarding stalling, recirc, forget the noise, surge, blah blah blah.
what i wanna know is... is this thing good or not. people from roadrace told me it's not a good value or a good performer and i'm wondering why all these mixed reviews. seems like it's a hit or miss with this product.
why i'm concerned... because i feel the design... theoretically should be bulletproof. i can't phathom a better design than a pull type valve where the boost holds the valve closed and the spring and vacuum opens it up when needed.

Had one for a few months. After fiddling with the adjustment screw on the back I got it to perform great! However, it will stall every now and then. The only reason I got rid of it was because I got tired of the pssshew/whistle sound all the time. TOO LOUD!
LOL Hey Wildman!!! How's the forge?
In answer to your question Trinydex, I have the HKS SSQ, and I took it off due to the stalling. Loved how it honestly preformed on the car when it didn't stall. However, people are telling me that it is because of the MAF, it reads a certain amount of air when the BOV goes off and the car sends additional fuel FOR that air, therefore your engine sees too much fuel and not enough air, and it stalls. The only way to overcome this is either Recirc it back into the intake, deal with the stalling, or get the AEM EMS and it has a setting to run it so the MAF will no longer be measured.
Hope it helps!

my eclipse has a recir kit on it and i made it VTA and it works perfect!!!! (i did it just to make a vid for somebody on the board) i will be glad to upload it if somebody has an ftp or something???
ok... how about some replies from people that run the recirc kit cuz most complaints here are from people that didn't run it and ran into stalling probs. cuz if that is the main concern then with the recirc there should be no complaints yes?
