Was wanting to get a idea on if these plugs are any good and what gap recommended for Evo 8

 

Stick with ngk

 

Nothing but NGK......

 

NGK have been proven to work. Maybe Autolite are just as good. They can't be proven to work if you don't try them.

 

Autolite plugs are usually pretty horrible. Like others have said, stick with NGK (or denso).

 

For the 8 theres no reason to use an iridium plug. Stick ONLY with NGK. Bpr7es I run with a little over 675 hp without a hiccup. Autolite is junk. They made my 07 silverado miss and run like S***

 

the evo 8 comes with iridium plugs from the factory.

 

gap should be determined once you decide on fuel and psi. After that, then tune. I usually start somewhere around .027 and go down to around .023. Run e85, around 40psi. No issues.

And wouldn't say that iridiums aren't necessary.. but they are recommended. the expense is definitely higher, but I guarantee you will change out your plugs more if you run the copper.

 

I've run plain Jane Autolite plugs from Walmart in my Evo and they were fine.

 

i ran autolites and misfired like a bastard, and so did MANY others. DONT DO IT

 

Just because you had one good experience with them doesnt out weight the 100s of bad experiences with them.
