Which Turbo is bigger?

Which Turbo is capable of producing more HP?

Does anyone have the possible max HP of each of the Turbos?

Which has a quicker spoolup?(less laggy)

Overall, which Turbo is better and which one would you go for?

There was a post comparing the HKS 3037S VS the Greddy 25g, but I wanna know how the 25g compares to the 3240 since the top two cars(both EVOs) on the Tsukuba circuit in Japan run a 25g(Jun EVO 5 - 1st place) and the 3240(HKS EVO 7 - 2nd place).
there has been alot of discution on UK forums on this topic and the HKS units always seem to come out on top (unless you speend huge money on comp spec items)!!!!

But don't consider the 25g unless you are increasing the displacement, IMHO. You can look at Mike Welch dyno graph of the greddy kit on EVO 8 on the AEM forums. He just made 518whp. Engine is stock save 272 cams and studs. He likely would see 30 more hp with headwork. But the graph to me looks awful laggy. I think the 10cm exhaust was a poor choice. The 8cm will spool quicker and can support well into the 500s. Staying with the stock intake would likely spool the turbo sooner with minimal if any loss on top. The stock intake rocks and when a tuner does a back to back test and post the results you will see. Some tuners in Miami have been seeing 550whp from this turbo on the 2.0 for years. Very popular down there.

Onto the 25g or HKS3240? I e-mailed Norris Designs with these questions: What is the most WHP you have seen from the 25G? What would the hp increase be by switching to a HKS3240 with no other changes? How would the spool be compared to the 25g?

They answered: 460WHP. 50WHP. 200rpm sooner.

I would be weary of using a 3100$ HKS3240 on my car simply cause there is no garrett cartrige available to fix the turbo if it gets hurt. HKS is the only one using a gt32 BB turbine. I have almost killed my 25g twice. The first time was on the intial install. I was clocking the compressor housing and the snap ring was not all the way back in. The compressor housing popped off at 6000rpm on the first test drive. I have been running a compressor clipped 25g from day one Just yesterday I was test driving the car and at 25psi an intercooler hose blew off. The air pressure releasing from the intercooler blew a hole right through my aluminum intake pipe I couldn't believe my eyes. Lucky not shrapnell reached the turbo! **** happens and turbos DO get hurt even when you are careful.
I have the hks 3037s and im putting down 460whp right now, I was looking to go with the 3240 and 2.3 displacement... would this be a bad idead, Im just trying to keep everything hks cause thats kinda my theme..

also I know the thread has been dead forever.. sorry

That's because HKS has been dead since 2004 when the USDM market turned up the boost and started building better turbo kits.
