Unhappy Dark oil

I have no idea if this is ok but my oil gets dark so quick like in 300 miles with out hard driving it gets kinda dark ??? I use Mobil 1 10 W30 full synthec as the dealer recommends??? I have always used that oil in all my cars but it does not get dark that quick in the others. Oh I use K and N oil filter too which should be the best. Is that ok please let me know.

thanks

Yeah, it gets dark really quick. I think because of the rich running condition of the EVO.

The Mobile-1 gets dark really quick. It did the same thing in my 2000 SLK 230 after about 250 miles. You only have to change the oil every 10-15 thousand miles depending on how you drive the SLK.( It tells you when to change the oil)
I had 102,528 miles on my SLK when I traded it in for my EVO and I had ZERO problems using this oil.

It's normal. Don't worry about it.

You must be kidding me!? You changed the oil every 10-15 thousand miles. That must be a typo because that engine would be crap if you did that. I don't care what car you have, especially a car with forced induction like an SLK I hope you dont actually think that those lights on the dashes like Mercedes and BMW's have that tell you when to change the oil are correct. I had a 95 and a 98 M3 and the oil lights even when driving the car extremely hard would still not go off until 5 or 6k which is rediculous.

doesnt make sense. We are suppose to change out synthetic every 3k , but my friends e46 changes the oil every 10k even with track events. Oil is always clean and eats a little bit of oil. Why is this?

I have lot of friends with e46s especially since I used to drive a e46 for about 2years...

I always changed my oil every 5k mile at the most so my friends.. and still took it to the dealer for scheduled oil service (they were free)

will i change my oil every 2500 to be on the safe side plus i go fast some times so just in case plus turbo cars require more ATT than none. If I had a Camery or a lancer OZ or any simple engine car i would change it every 5 to 6 TM no more because oil is what makes your car live longer and stay strong.
