I think the answer is likey yes. I recently experimented by fabricating a Short Runner TwinScroll T4 setup with the GTX3076R, which is similar to the HTA3076R. My thought was that people make good power on a ported stock exhaust manifold, so why not create something similar in a tubular header for the T4 TS footprint.

I run a Garrett 1.06 a/r T4 turbine housing cut for a GT30r turbine wheel and you can see the setup below. Here is the build thread....Short Runner T4 TwinScroll

The car made 441hp/376ft-lbs at 31.5psi on 93 octane, but with my daily boost of 30psi the car makes around 420hp/355ft-lbs in 50F weather. I get 22psi @ 4K rpm in 3rd gear so the setup is definitely responsive. Below is the 31.5psi street pull(most impressive pull), but I can post a 30psi pull when I return from travel. Keep in mind this is stock head, stock cams, stock intake and stock tb.

When I install my GSC S2's, port the head, and upgrade the stock intake manifold the car would likely be capable of 500whp@30psi on pump.

It is hard to say at this point, but I do think the turbo is a mismatch for my current setup due to my lack of intake & cams.

Isn't the GTX3076R worth about 15 WHP over the standard 3076? BTW, 240ZTwinTurbo, I admire the minimalist design of your header creation. It is really clean.

Not according to the compressor maps.
We'll find out soon, we'll be testing on our forged engine next year.

personally i'm looking at running this turbo or a EFR turbo.
with a 0.82 TS T3 ex housing, it will make 18psi at about 3600-3700 rpm. (on a 2.0 litre with VVT)

Cheers, Mike

Well, I think I'll be able to come close enough. If anyone knows someone who wants to work out a trade for a DBB Anti-Surge Polished GT35r with a .63 exhaust housing this summer, let me know and we'll work something out. I'm also going to stock ECU and Speed Density, as well as a Magnus and a new dump, so hopefully we'll be able to get there.

When I went from the GT35R to the HTA35(both with .63 housing) the results were faster spool and more power. With your mods and a HTA35 at 26psi you should be or close to 500whp.

That's good to know. I was falsely informed! How much spool did you gain?

I think it was like 300-400rpm but it was a couple of years back so I don't remember exact numbers.

I'm from right outside of Philadelphia. However, if I can spool 300-400rpms sooner with a $600 upgrade and make a few extra hp, I don't really know if it'll be worth changing my turbo completely.

^^^ i love the HTA option. I would do that if I were you. My custom set-up was built for the way I like to drive it. I love it when the sticky 265 BF's break loose and I get a tease at drifting lol I do wonder if a 35r will be a lazier set up down low with a 2.0...
