The Ideal Daily Driver Build..... Keeping it 2.0L
Well guys I've been trying to gather up some parts to build up my Evo. I want to keep its drivability and not looking for more than 600 on E85... Which bearings should i put, pistons?, Rods?, should i change the Crank?
List of parts I've heard so far..
-Wiseco HD Pistons
-CP pistons
-Eagle rods
-Manley bearings
-manley rods
all the ARP Studs full motor
New Gaskets
i got a single walhbro pump. should i put a double pumper??
Do i have to give it a head job??
Bigger injectors???
My goal is to Hook and support a FP BB Black.... on and MR 6 speed

Well for anything street, I would recommend 2.3L, I won't ever go back to a 2.0L. That being said:
-don't go with eagle rods they have been known to give out around the power that you are looking for, get some decent I beams (I'd recommend Manley I beams)
-you can get away w/ a walbro in tank and one in line
- bigger injectors are a must - e85 requires 30% more fuel per hp than regular gasoline. (I know they aren't cheap but I'd suggest id2000's, they idle better than stock. They are about twice what you'd pay for a lowZ injector (1200+ cc) but will support whatever you can throw at them and have awesome performance across the idc range)
- You don't "have" to have a head job, I would HIGHLY recommend it though, it will be your bottleneck if you don't
-Lastly - you will need to be careful on the 6-speed, they are weak in comparison to the 5-speed (I've seen cars go over 20k+ miles on a stock trans (5 speed) pushing 600+ whp. The 6 speed would go boom).

So what people would give me a good head job???
what company works those 2000 cc and what computer management system
(stockecu???)
about the transmission I've heard sheppard works the 6speed making it barely indestructible.. but its almost a 3500$ investment.... Help me out here I just don't want to **** up....
Ohh and on the pistons?? no comment on that one??
GOD BLESS FORUMS..
Which company makes the best 2.3L stroker kit???

First and foremost make sure your car runs good now, make sure to run a full 3" tbe so your turbo can breathe. The black gets choked up with exhaust restrictions. Another thing is the company that makes the ID2000 are Injector Dynamics.
Contact T1racedevelopment for some. Make sure to buy the resistor bypass for them. You can get an easy kit from spoolinup.com
Trans- I'd go with a 5speed stage 1 trans from TRE Transmissions for your goals. Affordable and will handle the tq. Get a good clutch and you're good
As far as rods, a billet I beam rod from oliver or Manley is what I'd say or a more pricy Carrillo H beam pro with 3/8 carr bolts since they are lighter.
Acl Race bearings
Pistons- Wiseco and AMS Ross make great pistons along with the Buschur JE pistons. You can't go wrong with those brands
Any kit from a reputable shop for a 2.3 is good as long as theres no eagle parts in them. you also can get away with putting your own 2.3 kit together for cheaper. Headgames in trenton nj does amazing head work. but you pay for what you get. you can just get away with doing cams springs and retainers though. stock ecu is fine for that horsepower. and you can just swap a 5 speed trans into the car and be fine. theres no need to do transmission work with that much horsepower if you know how to drive the car.

Magnus Motorsports has been building amazing strokers for a long time before many other shops ever "discovered" them. Marco, the owner of Magnus, also supports a large number of the best Evos in Puerto Rico, if that's where you car is. Ask around there and you'll hit some of his happy customers
I am in the middle of a similar scenario. Here is what I have gathered so far, and I am always willing to learn. Getting a super silly *****ing clutch is dangerous, especially for the 6 speed. I have a 6 speed, and I absolutely love it. I suspect its something like those folks that go 2.3 and never would go back. Once you track a 6 speed you likely won't go back. That being said, big power is not advised. The gears are thinner, period. So a lot of that now comes down to how you treat it. The easy division is, are you planning on drag racing, then anything 500HP is a lot to ask of the 6 speed. If you are are a track guy, like me, and are smooth with the trans, you can handle that. Its the slamming through the gears that kills it.
The other big deal is making sure that your super do ditty clutch releases at high RPMs. Its not actually the gears that usually fail, its the syncros. If the clutch has difficultly fulling releasing then the syncros have to fight that friction to spin up, and you will start missing shifts. The more that happens the worse it gets.
For instance, my 2nd was destroyed by a 'professional' driver. My 4th was missed enough times by me on track that I started driving skipping 4th on track. The trans wasn't blown up, but it wasn't new. I am only pushing 310WHP at the moment. However, my clutch can handle 500. Not the best selection, and therefore the weakest part of my setup is the tcase and trans. Yes, my tcase went boom in rather dramatic fashion.
If you do decide to go with that much power and keep the 6 speed make sure to get a trans oil cooler. This, I am told, help significantly keeping the oils consistency effective for the syncros to spin up. I need to get one myself.
Beyond that I here the JE pistons are some of the best. I have friends that work in management at the parent company of JE and Wiseco and both are great products. JE has great in house end user support and guidance. Those guys really know their evos.
My last long winded 2 cents for you, is something my friends in the drag world have continually told me; do you really need to build the bottom end? I would think cams, ported intake, ported exhaust, head work, turbo, dialed tuning and other details would get you almost to the power range you are thinking. 450-500. Let the bottom end earn its keep there.
Then if it does go boom, build it then. This option makes it more reliable for street daily driving use.

Best street set up bori is a 2.3 with any turbo kit, You will lose top end but kill anything next to you from a dig. BB black with a 2.0 is what i got, Now that i look back i wish i did a 2.3.
Good luck with your built. And please stay away from eagel rod.
