I brought my EVO to the dealer for a similar problem. It is intermittent so of course it didn't happen when they drove the car and it hasn't been fixed. It always seems to happen after quick braking. I thought maybe it was one of the front calipers sticking. It's only occured for me at slow speeds, accelerating/ turning after a stop.

no its coming from the front diff. some noise is considered normal in the audi world. im just wonder what the experience is with mitsu. it just that the front wheels are moving at different speeds so ther is some binding that occurs.

Bingo! That explains why mine was doing it when I had the donut tire on. Is this bad?

i do think some noise is normal, but since i put snow tires on the car it seems to be louder, im just wondering if its considered normal and what everybody else is experiencing.

When I pulled in a parking spot at my apartment, it felt some nasty binding. So did I kill my transfercase? Everything else seems normal when I'm driving around. just at slow speed and extreme sharp turns does it bind.
