Which BOV?

My Best friend just bought an EVO and he has the old Greddy Type-S BOV from his blown RSX. Will it work on his EVO? It has to be specific to the EVO right? If not, which BOV is the best for the EVO 8. I have a Blitz BOV and love it. He's wants the best money can buy. Thanks Guys.

Dont buy a Forge DV.Good for spool up but not driveability. Bucks in between corners and at highway speeds when I let off. I am trying to sell mine but it looks like it will just be an expensive paperweight. I will not put it one my new Evo I will keep the stock one.

Forged DV? What is that? So you are going to keep the stock one? He just misses the sound of the Type-S.

I know one thing, the 99 Eclipse turbo hks bov fits the Evo VIII. You'll have to a search. There are plenty of threads on this subject (a good blow off valve). i heard good and bad on all the bov's from: hks (which i have), forge, greddy and blitz. So i guess there cannot just be a great one to use?! Hks is cool. I'm going to recirculate it instead.

Froge Dv is a recicrulating blow off valve and it will still give you the sound if you have an open element filter but so will the stock one. I have not heard of any other have had the same amount of problems as the Forge DV. Like I said I want to find another one that will still give me the same results without the driveablilty problem and yes I have the shim and spring kit but still unable to get the problems weeded out. It however does increase spool up time and has alot better throttle response over the stock one. Maybe I got one that is defective. Forge vendors so far have been unablt to help me so Forge if you are reading this please E-mail me.

i assume that Greddy Type-S BOV that you're planning to buy is a VTA BOV?

if it's VTA then you have to re-adjust the way you drive your car. e.g. when you're slowing down to a dead stop, u have to wait til the rpm is low enough before you put the gear in neutral. otherwise, it may stall. in addition, at high speed, when you let off the gas too quickly, the car will sometimes "jerks/hesitate".

i just had my VTA BOV installed yesterday, and so far i haven't stalled yet. my wife actually drove it last night and she didn't stall either.

as for DV, it's recirculated....some air go back to intake...less likely to bog/stall but i've heard some ppl stall with DV/recirculated BOVs

EDIT: my bov is TurboXS Type H (VTA).

I run a 1st gen bov with the Dejon Tool leak stop kit, can be found at www.dejontool.com/dsm-misc.htm and a flange adaptor kit so it can recirculate, absolutely amazing.

I am waiting (still) on a stealthfx bov from Go Fast Bits. Its a small austrailian company, but they make the best BOV's I've seen, The rex crowd knows about them.. The stealthfx is cool b/c it's both recirculationg AND VTA. You can adjust how much air is vented to atmosphere and how much is recirculated back into the intake. plus you can do it with just a twist of the head, no taking it apart necessary, so you can adjust it to full recirculating when you have a long trip or commute, and adjust it back to (partial)VTA for more noise when you want it. or you can just adjust it for maximum amoutn of vta possible without making the car stutter or stall, and just leave it there. Some other member has one, said he adjusted it to about 70% VTA for loud sound and good driveability. they go for like 250 though..
