Clutch problem

hey everyone, here's whats going on. just this morning i was driving my car with out a problem then i go to get into my car this afternoon and i start it up and i felt that my clutch is grabbing at the floor. normally you dont even need to push the clutch in half way for it to grab, and now its grabbing a split second before the clutch hits the floor. then i get into my car a little earlier tonight and i feel that the clutch is grabbing when it hits the floor not a second before. the clutch is fairly new and i dont beat on the car too bad so i dont think the clutch is at the end of its life. does anyone know what could be wrong? i was doing some searching and someone had a kinda similar problem and he said it was his throw out bearing but im not totally sure can someone please help????? thanks.

Do you know how to adjust your clutch? If not, search how and check that out. If the nut that holds the rod in place has loosened then the rod may have moved. A slim chance but it could've happened.

Otherwise you'll be looking at you master/slave cylinder or your TOB.

i havent checked the fluid level yet because it got dark out and its pretty cold out i was going to check tomorrow morning. i hope it just need to adjust the pedal but is that a good possibility? only because when i was driving it in the afternoon it was staying the same catch point the whole drive, it just changed the next time i went to drive the car

Could very possibly just needing to adjust the clutch pedal. Quick and easy to do, just make sure the car has warmed up so you get the proper adjustment and get it to grab where you'd like it to.

My gut feeling is it won't be the pedal, but it would be the first thing I would check. Search YouTube for the jacks transmissions clutch adjust. Thats the best tutorial I've seen and it's the one I used.

I'm guessing it is salve/master cly or fluid. It doesn't really sound like adjust engage point and sure not throw out bearing.

well i checked the adjustment nut and bolt and thats not the problem, idk if this means anything but the clutch pedal sticks just before it it catches on the floor. and when i say sticks i mean stays down and doesnt come back till i pull it back but once i just tap it back it swings back with no problem.

Check your slave.. I am having an issue with my clutch right now. Here is a pic of my slave. The pedal went to the floor and would not come back up. Now I am trying to snap the fork back in. take some pics make sure everything is lining up.

yea i saw your thread im sorry to hear that, its a real bummer i hope you can fix it soon, i was talking to a friend who knows evo's and he said i have a small leak and air got in my line so what i have to do is fill up the break fluid and pump the clutch 20 times then on the 21st time hold it for 10 seconds then get out and follow the line and see where the leak is.

Yah that is an easier fix. If you haven't done so replace the clutch line with a ss one and remove the restricter pill from the slave while you are in there

i was reading the thread about that and i want to but the way they stated it, it kinda confused me they said its better but they said the pill helps with the smoothness of the shift but if i remove it will it make it a more rough shift? or will it stay the same?
