P0340 Code Update w carnage pics

Here's the original thread https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...code-help.html

I ran out of options as far as things to try so upon inspection i noticed the ground strap was melted so me and my roommate began unsheathing the wire harness and this is what we found - the harness all the way back to the main loom is partially melted so now im looking for advice on what to do next?
It was getting dark so sry for the crap pics but you get the idea

Trace the melted wire back to its origin, I would do a continuity test with a multimeter, open up the harness to make sure there are not any other points in which wires have crossed or anything is grounded before throwing any voltage at it. Replace the wires, use solder joints and shrink wrap.

Obviously option b is buy a harness from someone who is parting a car out.
