All of you that have replaced your radiator with an after market unit, did you remove that black grill/ mesh "protector" that was infront of the stock one? If so why? Or if not why not?

I kept mine on cause I didn't know if it was safe not to.. Been thinking about removing it, cause I can't really see anything hitting the radiator up there...

What are some of your thoughts. Thanks

i just replaced my radiator with a koyo r core aluminum radiator and didnt see this black mesh your speaking of and as far as i know the previous owner never had an aftermarket radiator in the car. you happen to have any pics of the mesh your talking about?
