The dwell is the same unless you changed it in the ECU... I had my fare share of issues with the spoolinup kit, not that it is a bad design, but it just didn't jive with my car...there are plenty of people out there running around with the kit with zero issues... I blew 3 different sets of used coils, the last time they blew it also took out the cam sensor. Since that day, I replaced the cam sensor, and went back to the oem coils, and have had zero issues...
...
BTW, every time a coil bit the dust it was on cylinder 2... the last time it took out cylinder 2 & 3...

Curious-- did your COP just blow out the coils where they went out completely all at once? I ask as I have a very intermittent problem, like a cylinder kicking out and a spark misfire- a slight miss at light throttle where you can feel it in the gas pedal. Only does it on a cold start when it happens. But can go months with no issues, then it kicks in and goes for a couple of min then gone again. In a std car it would be just like a loose plug wire. Is this what you guys are experiencing?

That is what happened to my car before they would bite the dust... it generally happened to me while I was on the interstate (missfire type issue)

I'm going to check coils with a muti meter later today. I hope to get a refund for the kit. I'm feeling that I need a new cam sensor and who knows how many stock coils??? How can this happen on so few Evo's???? Puzzling?? Was running fine, I thought, because I'm running SD I thought I was having the jitters. Damn I'm so confused, and broke!! How do I get a hold of Matt? Does he have a phone #, or is it just by email? HELP.

Do you have a shield for your cam sensor?
I am lucky with my used SpoolinUp kit. I even run it with the HKS twin-fire amp. 40+ PSI with TONS of water+meth and it doesn't even snuff out the sparks

I have heard of this happening with a TM Works kit too. Guys car blew the same coil 2 or 3 times then switched to a spoolinup kit and its been fine since.

Could this have anything to do with the coil charge time settings in the rom? Perhaps need modification for the denso coils? Doesn't really explain why certain cylinders would be more commonly affected though.
