Is there a noticable difference in intake upgrades? Some people say a drop in air filter is better than a SRI or CAI. So which is it, CAI,SRI or drop in K&N filter?
First off, that was a terrible thread name. This topic has absolutely nothing to do with tuning.
I really doubt you're going to be able to tell a difference between the different intakes. CAI for the evo isn't nearly the same thing as those for a naturally aspirated car.
For example, the AEM CAI kit is just laughable IMO. The stock airbox would do a better job of getting cold air to the intake. In fact, Vishnu advocates the retention of the stock airbox for otherwise modified vehicles. Perhaps look into this and save yourself some money.
The K&N drop-in is also accompanied by a host of other drop-in replacement brands. It's all a matter of whose product literature you believe more.
Good luck to you, but I've got to say you're probably going to find more information by reading the manufacturer's information and drawing your own conclusions than asking people's opinion on which is better.
