Pleeeeaaaassseee heellllppppp!!!!
I have recently bought an Evo 6 from Ralliart UK with full service history (Ralliart UK) It has a replacement mushroom air filter, exhaust, dump valve and apexi boost contoller. Despite numerous requests Ralliart have not / cannot supply me with a user manual for the boost controller and I think it's fairly imprtant I understand how it works! - Can anyone tell me how it works - it has a round knob on the left, a display in the middle and 4 buttons on the right.
I have had the car 3 weeks now and have used the same fuel (Shell Optimax - 98 octane I am told) everytime but yesterday the car felt like it was cutting the fuel off at around 1.2 bar and above. This has not happened before and reliably accelerated at 1.5 bar with no probs - any ideas???
Many thanks, Graham

Ralliart should be able to at least tell you what model you have. Then, you can contact an apexi dealer and ask for a manual. Someone in your area could photocopy a user manual for your controller as well. I know it's not the answer you are looking for but, it may get you on your way

Fuel cut is no necessarily bad. It is not necessarily your boost controller either. Octane doesn't affect fuel cut. It has to do with fuel injector duty cycle. ECU is reading more air and therefore maxing out injector duty to 100%. You may have experienced this for the first time at night or early morning when air is cool and dense. True? Regardless if you have fuel management aides try to increase fuel in order to compensate for the increased air read by MAS and sent to ECU. That is basically the problem.

Thanks for your replies guys - I was fiddling around the engine earlier installing a power cable for my stereo amplifier and noticed something that may have some relevance to my problem - see what you think...
With the electronic valve controller swithced off the car is still trying to boost at 1.5 / 1.6 bar - I think they are supposed to run .8 bar standard ? - and as the car is fairly standard I was guessing that there must be something amiss.
A thin bore tube coming off the back of the sequential blow off valve runs to the inlet manifold but there is a kind of 'connector' halfway along the tube that appears to have broken. It is black and the size of a small coin with a short tube either side for connecting in-line to the thin bore pipe. This appears to have split cleanly straight down the middle and kind of loosely clips back together but not strong enough to hold. I am confident that I can glue this back together but is it a one way valve or just a connector??? This must be fairly important as the inlet manifold surely is leaking through the broken connector - what do you think ?!?
