Plug wires....

Could someone post some pics to explain the Evo ignition system. I don't get the 2 plugwires for 4 spark plug deal.

Thanks,

Unkle Ron

each spark plug has its own coil. The evo does not have a distrubutor like most cars.

I understand DIS(Distrubuterless (SP?)Ignition System). That's why I'm wondering why it has coil wire at all. Why only 2?

On all of the latest Ford OEM stuff I have seen, there is no coil wire at all. The coil is plugged right into and on top of the spark plug. I think Honda is like this now as well.

I have to pull my coil cover of and check it out.....

It has two coils which fire cylinders 2 and 4 directly. The wires going from the coils to 1 and 3 fire off those cylinders, obviously using enegy garnered from the coils. Mitsu uses DIS in pretty much all of their 4 cylinder motors, if not all by now.
