How two LR 2.4 BUILD

Hello i am attempting to build a LR2.4 setup im fairly new to DSM/EVO's but have been wrenching with cars since i was 16 and have built a few engines in the pas that went 10s. I am looking for help from the Evo community to see what exactly i need from my current evo 8 long block to make this setup work i already have the rotating assembly mapped out just need to know what OEM stuff i need. Also which balance shaft delete kit is a good one to use. Little details like that.

Which Balance shaft delete kit?
Best headgasket keep in mind block is O ringed?
Besides the head itself what else is needed from OEM Evo?
Is the Kiggly Racing HLA recommanded?
Does anything in the head need to be machined?
And am i missing anything else?

Please if you have any info that might help i would appricate it im trying to have this back in the car within the next month thanks alot

Have you tried searching?

I have no personal info to help you but I did do a quick search and there are more links then the one I posted below.

I found this link.....searching.....not sure if his block is sleeved but he is documenting his steps. You might pick up some useful info from this link.

2.4L block, your choice of 100mm crank, your choice of LR pistons an rods, water pump spacer or ER modded pump, modify a few brackets, yourchoice if you wanna moify the stockhea and open it to 87mm, head gasket is up to you most go with the ams milled oem or cometics new gasket...

Here is some information for you on other issues:

1- Dipstick - What diameter is the hole that needs drilling? - It's 12mm and goes into the "blank" in the 4G64 block.
2- Can the oil filter housing be used from the 64 on the 63 oil pump? - No - you use a 63 pump and filter housing
3- Water outlet from 4G64 - can this be used on 63? - Use water pump 1300A069 - this works and does not leak.
4- Cambelt - 2 options: 4G64 belt or 4G63 belt and a bit of a faff with the tensioners. You will need vernier pulleys whichever you go for as the block is now taller, so the timing will be wrong.
I will be using either one of our Piper 4G63 belts or a standard OE EVO IX belt (these are kevlar reinforced). I have just finished my engine with the Piper belt and it works just fine.

Grant that is the Outlander pump, I though ER verified that doesn't work with the evo VIII serpentine setup... care to elaborate...

Also when using the DOHC 4g64 timing belt you need to advance each cam gear by 3.75*... When using the 4g63 timing belt you retard each cam gear by 3.75*

to this guys defense, all the info on this site is very scattered and it takes a good searching through 20+ threads to gather all the info needed to do a build for something like 2.4lr build.

If you are doing your own build, you are going to have to read and figure most of it out yourself, most shops don't offer free tech advice...

Think of it like the ECUflash forum... you wanna tune on your own you are going to have to do a lot of reading.
