On a 2.3 stroker (JE pistons, eagle crank, howards performance rods w/ fp red) I run Rotella 15w-40 non synthetic and change every 2000 miles. Car runs significantly smoother and all valve train ticking noises disappeared....and the oil seems to not break down very quickly. i was using valv vr-1 20-50 non synthetic but prefer the Rotella.

Wow another oil thread.

I find my motors have always ran better when I use EVOO with a few drops of baby seal tears.

^^^^ LOL.. I switched from Mobil 1 to Brad Penn based on the study done by Forced Performance. I experienced the destructive power that can be done if oil breaks down and thankfully FP had my FP Black under warranty to repair it for me.. Otherwise it was gonna cost me $800+ for repair or another $2k for a new Black.. Plus, Brad Penn is like $4 around here. (Bucks Co. PA)

Exactly. We must be up to about 20 different suggestions so far.

Like I said, this is an insanely broad question because you're asking people with completely different motors for completely different purposes living in completely different parts of the country.

The Brad Penn is really great and the tests show that it is worth using. But I am no expert and since everyone has different everythings in their cars, the Brad Penn might not be for them. The only people i know that should really look into this oil are the ones who have the FP type turbos and want to keep any warranty. I seized on FP Black due to crappy oil and I will NEVER make that mistake again.

Would Brad Penn 10w-40 Partial Synthetic or REDLINE SYNTHETIC MOTOR OIL 10W40 be better for my car?

2005 MR full bolts on, stock motor, 79k miles, E85.

The Brad Penn is really good stuff. This thread has a lot of good recommendations but I personally like the BP series oil. Check out the tests done by forced performance and check out what you run and want to run. It breaks it all down.

Valvoline racing (blend/not fully synthetic)VR1 20 50 in my evo dynamics built engine with buschur internals. It has over 30 or 40 hrs track time plus abt 20k miles and is in amazing shape. The full synthetic 20/50 valvoline and amsoil make too much blowby, in fact the non syn doesn't even make enough to bother the fact that I run no catch can and have stock valve cover ventilation setup. I use this off of buschurs recommendation from when I first had them build the block back in 08ish befor/for use with the 35R. Now its on stock turbo but tuned at 25 psi cams fuel et and I drive the ***** off it everytime I track it no matter. I have tried other types of oil and I think it runs the best with this.
