HELP! My evo9 made a pop noise and something is seriously wrong with it...
Thanks for dropping by to have a read..this is what happened,
I was driving and all of a sudden it made a popping noise. Then I smelt some smoke so pulled over and had a look. Everything seemed fine (being a female) but then I realised that the blow off valve wasnt working?!?! Then it just gets worse...the car isn't driving properly I can hardly rev without it sounding like the car is straining AND a lot of grey smoke comes out of the exhaust. And it will not drive in 3rd gear onwards, the car will shake like there is not enough revving going on. I really hope it isn't the turbo!!!!!! I am so worried.
Any help would be great

I can just about guarantee you popped off an intercooler pipe. Easy, cheap fix, given you can work a screwdriver or a ratchet. One of the pipes leading from the turbo to the intercooler, or from the intercooler to the throttle body should be hanging out in space. The hose clamp is also probably gone.
Get a new hose clamp, slide the rubber coupler bacl over the aluminum pipe, and tighten the hose clamp as tight as you can make it without stripping the clamp.
