Decel Rattle/Grind: Solution

Just had my transmission built and put in a clutch master stage 3 clutch in.

No more decel noise!

After talking to the guys at fftec Dave said that it could be the springs on the clutch disc being loose. On my oem exedy they were all loose on the clutch masters they were all tight and now its gone.

Idk if it will come back but so far im happy!

Thought id share.

Interesting. I've been hearing a decel noise for almost 3 years with no ill effects. Was convinced it was an input shaft bearing. Changed my clutch, the noise went away for a few weeks and gradually came back. Still think it's a input shaft bearing, but now I just don't know.

Can an imput shaft bearing cause binding up? Like binding up in the turns as well as in the straights when slowing down creating a thumping noise like when the car is in gear?

is this noise different from the typical rear end/driveshaft noise? Does it clearly come from the front of the car? Thanks for posting, probably would have never thought clutch springs could cause that.

Sounds like a differential problem.

It's like basically like if your going 60 and let off the gas it's like a grinding on an exhaust shield. But put the clutch in and it goes away. I really think the springs are the culprit
