Need HELP!!!! ASAP

Please someone help me before I purposefully break something just to break it. I am that pissed off right now . I've got 3 more hours of daylight and need to get this transmission dropped. I've been stuck on this damn throw out bearing for the last 2 hours and have made absolutely 0 progress.

Someone correct me if I am wrong....
Push fork towards driver side
insert/wedge flathead between the spring and TOB
rotate 90'

That's where I keep getting hung up. I've gone through every flathead I have and only 1 of them will rotate while I'm pushing the fork forward. I'm so lost it isn't even funny. What I'm not understanding is how are you supposed to rotate the flathead if the fork is being pushed forward? The fork just pushes back everytime.

I'm sure you all are going to laugh at this but I'm seriously going to damage something either out of mistake or on purpose if I can't get this soon

Try this out....

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/dr...r-removal.html

Quote to help you:

"Use the recommended method, but put a ratchet on the crank pulley and rotate the motor a few degrees after each try. I.E. - Push the fork, put in the screwdriver and try to pry. If it doesn't come apart, turn the crank a few degrees and try again. Still no luck, try it again. It has worked every time for me and saves you from damaging the ring.

- Steve"

I really dont know what to tell you. You are doing exactly how I did it and Mine snapped off the first try. I heard all the horror stories on the tob clip, but it took me all of 5 min maybe. Its so hard to see what you are doing wrong without being there.

Good luck man. I know how it is, dont break **** though lol. Then you will be paying for that. Keep at it, you will get it.

When you did yours...did you let the fork go back to it's original position while turning the flathead or did you keep it pressed forward?

It kinda just went back on its own, from what I remember. I remember doing it like 3 times. It popped the first time, and I thought, surely it wasnt that easy lol. So I snapped the tob back in, did it again, and that was it.

Nothing worse than being soo close, but something little holding you back.

finally got it to turn but I can't tell if the top clip is off or not. You're right it sucks being so close and 1 small $40 part holding you back

yeah man, it's a little bit of pressure just to move it forward enough to unseat. then twist the screwdriver 90 degrees, it will pop off and the collar will spring backwards.

That's the trickiest part, and the part that's hard to explain over the internet. You need to keep applying light pressure while turning the screwdriver. Basically, keep the fork pushed forward (towards the driver's side to compress the wedge collar spring) but don't apply so much pressure that you counteract the twisting force of the screwdriver. Once the throwout bearing pops out, then you can move the fork back towards the passenger side.

That's another thing that has me worried. Are you supposed to be able to move the fork to the passenger side? Ever since I unbolted the linkage on the fork, it either stays right in the middle of goes to the drivers side. I cannot move it to the passeger side.

On a side note, I'm pretty sure I got the TOB. I'm saying **** it as this point and pulling everything. If it's not fully popped then I'll do it while it's on the ground.

You know you have it un-clipped, when the fork doesnt return all the way. It will stay torwards the right a little. If that makes sense??? lol
