Standard size valve guides are on back order and won't ship out until 2 weeks... BUT they have .001" in stock right now and are ready to ship. Anything good or bad going .001" bigger? Otherwise, I'm going to have to call up a few vendors to know who has standard size in stock and ready to ship.

My setup would be Supertech dual springs and Supertech .+5mm valves. Guides are also Supertech.

 

the +.001 wont work easily per-say. i just went thru this with my machinist. someone accidently sent me the +.001 when i ordered new guides. the .001 is on the out side diameter of the guide. my machinist measured my head and the guides and told me there was no way o get them pressed in without opening up the guide holes in the head. if he would have tried to press them in he probably would have split the head he said. he explained to me that these .001 bigger OD guides are for heads that mitebe messed up in some way that the guide holes would need to be opened up for a new smooth surface to press them into. so just wait or shop around for standard guides

Why not use Ferrea guides if you have to.

Yeah, this order is from MAP. It's on back order... I guess Supertech is really busy around tax season since my valves were back order too.
