Fp green problems
Fp green problems
I bought a fp green for my 05 evo 8 and received it last week. The machanic that was suppose to install in finally finished the install yesterday. Here comes the problem.
The machanic says that the seal in the turbo is bad because he noticed that there is antifreeze in the oil. I then say it is a brand new turbo. It can't be right. I asked him what happened. He said it can be the head gasket. My response "that can't be possible because the oil he drained from the pan before he started the swap didn't have any antifreeze and the antifreeze didn't have any oil. He then talked to the head machanic and the head Mac. Said that it can be the seal in the turbo.
I call fp and they said to do a pressure test on the coolent system.
The shop does a pressure test and finds that the turbo is leaking antifreeze Through the oil return line.
Has this ever happened to anyone before? Is this machanic pulling my leg. Can anyone shed some light on this issue for me. Thank you in advance.

I purchased the turbo directly from fp. I called Brian there at fp and he say that they never had this problem before. Obviously if someone above states they had the same problem it's not the first time.
Your probably right about the whole machanic. They suck. Mechanic are so much better.
Brian said that they won't do any replacement till they test it and I have to pay for the turbo to be sent. Back to them. I think that's a bunch of bs.

I'm really beginning to question the quality control of FP lately. I was really considering a Red, but have seen nothing but problems. Oh, not to mention one has to wait forever, and when they get their product they have issues.

Kp, you sound like a winery little 16 year old who just bought your first aftermarket part.
the turbo I saw do this was not an FP turbo. I have been arounf the block a few times with these cars. I likely have seen 50 turbo failures through my hands. cracked center section is really rare. even more so on new parts.
anytime there is a problem with a venders product the part has to go back to them. thats how it works. so stop the BS or get out of the game.
It's obvious that when a vendor send you a bad product you have to send it back. 94awdcoupe we are talking about customer service its obvious you dont know much about that either. I run a restaurant and we thrive on making our customers happy. Even if I have no expierence with aftermarket turbos doesn't mean that I buy a 1800 dollar turbo and have to deal with bs.
I posted this thread on here to get advice cause I don't have the expierence others do. That's what these forums are made for not bragging how much more you know about it then others. I think it's better to learn from other mistakes then make some on my own.
The purpose of this thread was to find out if this ha happened to anyone else and what they did.

Pull the turbo off and send it in to FP for failure analysis. Let them do their thing to it man. You can't drive your car as is, so, you have to remove it anyway. Just send it in as "94" said.
Since 4 of your 7 posts on this entire board are in this thread, it's clear that you jumped right in here and started this thread without taking much time to search or read about FP warranty service.
FP has the best warranty service in the business, and has for 15 years. If it's their problem, they'll fix it and take care of you as quickly as possible. BUT, like any manufacturer, they want to see the turbo and make sure they can identify the problem as being something that was their fault, not your "machanic". If it's their problem, they'll solve it for you quick.
Make sure you post up as quickly when you get their response as you did starting this thread before you even sent back the turbo and found out....
