Maxing out my DD Pumper????

Hello Evom,
Here is what's going on 5 months ago Aaron@English racing tuned my car and it made 715whp /585tq @40 psi on a built 2.0l/3586r. I was happy but the IDC% was right at 92% with an air fuel ratio of 11.8 up top I lowered the boost to 37 psi and left it there to keep the IDC% at 80. My fuel system at that time consisted of FullBlown double pumper(modified pumps) , -8 feed -6 return lines, Aeromotive fuel rail, Areoomotive Fpr, Fic low impedance 1600cc injectors. I eventually wanted to turn my boost to 43-45 psi but I knew more fuel was needed.

A fews weeks later, I purchased a new set of Fic 2150cc/Aeromotive inline filter along with 2 new walbro pumps just like the one that comes with the buschur double pumper (big inlet on the bottom instead of the regular 255's) and a new FullBlown 70mm throttle body to reaplace my Buschur 65mm. I ported the crap out of my buschur manifold added some material to the IM flange and installed the new throttle body along with the new injectors and went for a retune . Guess what? The IDC @44 psi is at 104 psi.what's really maxed out? Is the full blown hanger restricting me ? I dont really want those loud external pumps. I didn't dyno the car so I have no idea how much WHP makes at 44 psi?

That's right where the pumps are on the edge and will start to drop off even if modified. That being said we have made in the 750 range with that setup. We havent had good luck with the Aeromotive 340s holding up and another customer has had issues with the 400lph. The only other option I can think of is doing dual 044s and modding the hanger and fittings.

Thats sorta like saying using c16 instead of 91 octane to make power on an evo vs a big cube v8 is putting lipstick on a pig. Feeding the pumps better electric is making them perform better. Not a hack at all. Less heat as well since it has lower amperage at higher volts than the same overall power draw at lower volts would be.

Thats all true, but why not just run better pumps instead of sticking money into limping crappy pumps a bit farther?

^^^ and since the OP already switched out for another set of new walbros, running with better performing pumps, he wouldn't have to switch out again in the future. Do it once, do it right.
