new clutch for my 2003
new clutch for my 2003
so i have a 03' usdm evo withch i guess is differrent from all the other evos cuz of no acd. after a lil reserch it looks like there is a clutch that works with only the 05-06 evos but another one that works with the 03-06 evos
, so it looks like the MBK1001 would work with my 03' usdm evo is this correct?
i just want a good strong oem feeling clutch for a cheep price i can find the exedy MBK1001 for about $270 shipped anyone know of a good quality clutch for cheeper? or shuld i just get the exedy mbk1001

EXEDY makes an entry level unit that is weaker than stock. Don't get it! You will just be paying someone to pull the transmission off again within a few months to a year.
Spend a few extra $$$ and get a Competition Clutch and have your flywheel resurfaced (if it's still in good shape). Do it right the first time.

but will that work with my 03' i beleve i need a diff throwout berring or something than the 05-06.
the car is stock and already had a stage 3 multi disc clutch installed but was installed wrong, or what i am thinking now was for the 05-06 ones because it went out after like 8k mi and i always herd a horible grinding (from the discs not gears) when i would take off.

And for OP, if you're strapped for cash, the Exedy OEM replacement is fine but if you're planning on running more power, plan on getting a better clutch that can handle the torque. It comes with everything for install. Throw out bearing, alignment tool, etc.
actually im planning on selling the car. i dont want to spend any more than i have to. i just want it to drive well and ez for the next few thusand miles. i may end up getting something like the
F1 stage 1 or stage 2 (stage 2 kevlar only costs like $10 more than stage 1, and stage 3 is $8 more but i dont want stage 3)
or an xtd stage 1
they are in the $210-$230 price range
i think i may have bad 3rd-4th gear syncros anyway i was hoping it was the lame clutch but i will see once this new one is in

................ Just get the Exedy OEM replacement. I'd rather not have the next guy have that F1 clutch explode on him while driving.

Cheaper by a few $ too.
