Changing Your Turbo????

Hi Guys,

Can we just change out the EVO's turbo to a bigger turbo? Or do I need to buy the whole turbo kit?

Any help would be appreciated!!!

As far as I know there is not a direct replacement yet for the Evo.

I believe www.turbochargers.com has one. It is 825 with your core (500) exchange, 1425 without. Larger compressor wheel, turbine wheel and thrust bearing. You can also buy a stock replacement for 699

I have heard that that one is not to good at least thats what I read Buscher said. I just takes the stock turbo and increase the compressor side but keeps the intake side the same.

If the stock turbo is good for 400hp how much you have in mind I wouldn't get a new turbo because if i did, i'd probalby need a stronger drivetrain. Just my thought.

The only thing that gets me about that graph is that other tuners seem to be getting about the same performance from the stock turbo. I think that Buschur has achieved those numbers with his stage four on pump. Now, I realise that this was done with cams and a different intercooler, but if all else were equal what would the ATP turbo do? I am not knocking it, just wondering if the potential is there to justify the cost. I would like to see the turbo used in conjunction with a few more pieces as those who would likely use the turbo would already have things like cams, intercooler and such. The spool up looks good though.
