Throttle Sticking as high revs?

alrite guys, was goin about 35 in 2nd gr, and gave it like 3/4 throttle( to show my buddy of the problem) neways gave it about 3/4 gas, got to about 4.5k rpms, went to shift to 3rd and the thing literally stuck rite at 4.5k, tried pushin in the clutch to see if it would drop the rpm's and wouldnt, the only way it would drop was putting it into 3rd and releasing clutch slowly, now i have never encountered this before on ne car, so wat u guys thinkin, u may say clutch is slippin, but normal driving and everything is fine, plus i knw wat a slipping clutch feels like, do u guys think it could b the TPS? wat is goin on, i rarely ever get on it, and its botherin the crap out of me, 05 evo 8 rs, plz help guys

If you are stuck at 4500 you could try cleaning the throttle body it could be gunked up, otherwise the throttle cable could use some lube possibly, or be pinched.

I've been told that it's possibly the throttle shaft seals leaking which are cheap and I'd assume easy to fix, hasn't concerned me enough to hop on it yet

i have the same EXACT problem with my 8. I read somewhere on here a while ago about the tb shaft seals and thats an easy fix.
I also lubed the cable and that had no help, im almost positive it has to do with the tb i just havent gotten to the seals yet, im currently working on a rebuild.

This is a known issue, replace your TB shaft seals. To be completely sure this is the problem, spray some WD-40 on each side of the shaft and see if it goes away. If it does, your seals are shot.
