Clutch not engaging after clutch install.

I just rebuilt the transfer case and put a new clutch in and now after everything is back together. The car wont engage in gear. It revs and you can slide through all the gears no problem and the car doesnt move at all when in gear and i release the clutch. Could i have done something wrong?

I did bleed it but even if th clucth had no pressure in it. Wouldnt i not be able to go through the gears while the car is running and the clutch pedal isnt pressed in.

I think something may be wrong with my clutch line, its not building pressure. But would i be able to go through gear while the car is running?

You did reengage the clutch fork with your hand?

He means before u bolted the slave cylinder back on did u pull the fork towards the slave cylinder so the TOB snap ring was locked in place to be able to pull the pressure plate out and release the clutch.

Yes I did lock the tob in place. I know that for sure. If feels like the clutch is always being pulled away from the flyeheel but when I press the clutch if moves it even further away.

move the clutch fork by hand and see if it is binding. it sounds like something is screwed up because if the clutch is at rest it should move the car in gear. Id say it could be an adjustment issue but the push style slave can't be adjusted much anyway. Even if you didn't fully bleed the slave it would keep the clutch from disengaging not engaging. You need to get someone to step on the clutch and then look and see what the slave is doing.

I'm looking at the slave, fork, and release bearing and everything is working like normal. I think the pressure plate isnt clamping the clutch disc. I can start the car in gear with no problem and I can switch gears while car is running. I just don't understand what could be causing it not to clamp.

re bleed the slave.... Do you have any fluid loss?

Do you see the slave move when u push the clutch in? (2 man job) I would say if it works when the car is off and goes intoo gear than it would be your TOB but that would effect your pedal.

How did you align the clutch? Maybe its not aligned

Sounds like your pressure plate may be broke. I have seen it before a few times on a brand new pressure plate where the fingers break from not being properly torqued.

If the clutch pedal is not engaged, the vehicle is running and you can move through the gears then it is not a issue with the hydraulics but an issue with clutch itself since the clutch should be "grabbing" at all times the pedal is not engaged.
