How to identify a Evo 8 or 9 T-case?
Hi guys,
As some of you may know, my tcase is making the death whine. However, I can still use the car from time to time without much problems. I took it to the shop so they could take it out and I could send it to shep. There are too many car at the moment in the shop and they told me they could not store my car right know.
The shop owner told me he could give me a damaged T-case they had around and I could take my car home, send the tcase they were giving me and when the tcase gets back they would just swap them and I could have the car that same day.
With this said, I wanted to know how can I tell if they are giving me a evo 8 or 9 tcase and if there IS ANY WAY I could tell how much damage that tcase has without actually driving in car installed with it?
Any help will be greatly appreciated since I'm going to make a decision tomorrow.
Thanks!

im pretty sure the Tcases didnt change from the 05 to the 06 model (these are the 2 years that came with ACD in the US). What you want to make sure is that the Tcase that the shop has is an ACD model rather than a non ACD. The acd case will have hydraulic lines (or at the very least the ports for the lines if the lines have been removed.) Im sure there are other ways to tell, but i'm not 100% certain.

The only differences are ACD and Non ACD. ACD TCases look like the have an extra "piece" or "space" for lack of a better term. Non ACD's look like shorter.
the acd case is slightly wider to accomodate the acd clutch packs it will also have a bleedscrew in the bottom and the hole for the banjo bolt in the top .
