Clutch install....needs serious help!!!

ok so i decide to do the job by myself and on my garage floor( I know bad idea) it wasn't really that bad with loosening the sub frame and using a cherry picker. So i got my new clutch on and trans installed. Now the major problem is my transfer case, i can throw it up on there and it slides on the splines and dowl pin, but it stops with about a 1/4 gap between the tansfer case and trans. I tried tightening it up carefully and got nowhere. Any help or tip at all would be greatly appreciated

make sure the seal that goes on the machined part of the case isnt jacked up. it will want to push past it and cut it and keep it from going in sometimes. ive also had dowel pins get moved and not allow them to go in all the way. im assuming you wiggled it as it was going onto the splines and such. if not then just make sure the output shaft on the tranny isnt sagging or anything and make sure the tcase isnt cocked up, down, or turned at all. good luck man and i hope you find it was something simple.
