HKS cam part #, PLEASE HELP!!

I bought HKS 264in and 272 out cams over X-mas. I am installing right now, but the lobes are 90 degree's off of the stock cams according to the dowel pins. The cams are supposed to be a direct drop in without having to retime things, but these like I said are 90 degrees off. The part # on the box for the intake is 2202-RM003 and under that is 13692-264229 and under that is 4G63 264 in. For the exhaust it is 2202-RM006 and under that is 13600-09022OA and under that is 4G63 272 ex. Someone please tell me what your boxes say, I think that the shop gave me DSM cams. Thanks.

Yup. You got the wrong cams. Those are for Talons/Tsi. The right part numbers are AM001 and AM004 for the 264in and 272ex respectively.

$335 each! That is expensive. I've heard of them being $50 less for HKS. What is the most affordable vendor?

don't forget that HKS has raised their prices by 7% and cut down the vendors discounts.

Not only is my car torn apart in the garage because the cams are wrong, but a different company sent me the wrong cam gears, for a DSM of course. It has been a long friggen day. I installed head studs, fuel pump, Works valve springs and retainers, and attempted to install cams and gears. Tomorrow comes the clutch. A word of advise, if you are going to put different valve springs in with the head on then you need to get the special tool that Mitsubishi uses or one like it. I ended up compressing the valves by hand with a certain wrench because I could not get a normal compressor to work. I am lucky that I am 6'1" 240lbs and not fat, otherwise I would not have been able to do it. I ended up dropping a retainer down an oil return passage and then had to drop the oil pan to get it, which was allright I guess because I was going to put the rod bolts in as well so I just did this when I went to get the retainer. It still sucked though and those rod bolts are another story. While I was removing the downpipe, which bolts to the exhaust housing on the turbo since it is a RnR O2 eliminator downpipe, I managed to sheer off one of the bolts in the turbine exhaust housing. ****ing beautiful. Now my car is stuck while I try to aquire the correct cam gears and cams. I am nearly afraid to get into the clutch after todays fiasco, but hell with everything off of the car getting to things should be a bit easier. Long damn day.

JC, I wish you were closer I'd bring you a twelve pack, a pack of smokes, and some beef jerky. Sorry to here of your problems, but they only stack up to a delay. You'll be fine.

One of my close friends is a distrubutors for HKS. He gets me all HKS for wholesale. He told me HKS only raised the cam gears by 7%. I just bought the cams from him for the same price as he quote for me in mid. december.

Cam gears work on either 4G63, BTW.
The problem with HKS is they both raised retail and reduced the discount to vendors; it has a double effect.
