journal bearing turbos are dramatically less durable than ball bearing. the bigger the turbo, the more you need ball bearings. the problem is most likely you pushing the turbo harder than most people.

You should probably get a digital readout pressure gauge with an adjustable low pressure alarm light signal, and a playback function. Logging is OK and fine for reviewing after a run. But, you need a low pressure warning when in the heat of battle.

The filter housing feed line and a larger capacity baffled and trapdoored AMS, or Buschur pan would be good ideas as well. For drag racing on a built motor with a JB turbo I would probably go with a heavier oil. One of those high ZDDP types. I'd run a 15W-50 racing oil such as AMSOIL Dominator(RD-50), or Motul 300v Competition 15W-50. I wouldn't run Mobil1, not even their 15W/50 if I was dragging a built motor and spinning a big JB turbo.

A bigger cooler wouldn't hurt either.

zeitronix is digital and i can setup a warning light, thanks for the input looks like i need to figure out wat my actual pressure is and then ill probably switch to a ballbearing turbo, all the info im gathering is showing that im pushing journal bearing turbos way to hard

Yeah Zeitronix is way khuuul. You can get one of those auto meter pencil thin shift lights and it has a mounting ring which you can mount behind the bezel of your boost gauge pod. Or you can just get a little LED and drill a tiny hole in your gauge pod next to one of your other existing gauges. And wire it into the output of the Zeitronix.

A. mobile 1 is not good oil choice to combat thrusr issues.
B. stutter could indeed put more stress on the thrust load. the turbine is not getting a smooth feed but a heavily pulsed one. the pulses trying to shove turbine toward compressor wheel.
